Asus Zenbook Prime Touch

Posted by In Jonesia | 9:26 AM | ,

This device runs Intel Core i7 with 4GB RAM and honestly, it doesn’t feel any faster than a Core i5 rig for most of the common tasks. A full HD touchscreen, a backlit keyboard, Windows 8, and a thin form factor. Asus’ 3rd-generation ultrabook goes full-on Windows 8.

As for battery life, we were thoroughly impressed — we managed to get on WiFi with a full battery from 6PM until midnight with less than 10% left.

Asus Zenbook Prime Touch (UX31A) specs:
13.3-inch FHD IPS touchscreen LCD @ 1920×1080 pixels 350 nits (166 ppi)
Intel Core i7-3517U 1.9GHz dual-core

Asus Zenbook UX21A Taichi Spesifications

Posted by In Jonesia | 8:23 PM | ,

Asus’ concept with the Taichi was hedged on the idea that Windows 8 allows for a seemless experience between the tablet and the PC. With the Taichi, you get a regular functional laptop (ultrabook) and then use the 2nd screen (the back side of the lid) as a tablet.

This approach offers a dual-purpose machine that acts both as a regular laptop and a touch-screen Windows 8 laptop. The hardware specs though is pretty impressive. This model has the same configuration as my Zenbook Prime:

Asus Zenbook UX21A:
Intel Core i7-3517U 1.9GHz, up to 3.00 GHz on Turbo Boost
11.6″ IPS LCD, 1080p, 1920×1080 pixels, 189ppi
4GB DDR3 RAM
256GB SATA SSD
Intel HD Graphics 4000
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, dual-band 2.GHz & 5GHz
Bluetooth 4.0
Windows 8
